Top Reasons Garrett Gilbert will Succeed in his Junior Season for the Texas Longhorns (Part 2 of 3)

New Coaching Staff:
After almost completely wiping out his coaching staff, Mack Brown is locked and loaded with a whole new set of talent at the coaching position. Major Applewhite and Bryan Harsin are both experienced with developing quarterbacks. Applewhite who used to be a quarter back himself at Texas, will be in his first season as an offensive coordinator, but was recently running backs coach and knows a thing or two about QBs. Harsin on the other hand, formerly coached such talent as Kellen Moore back at Boise State, who will once again be a Heisman hopeful in 2011, thanks to Harsin’s coaching and development. Also coming our way is Stacy Searels, formerly offensive line coach at Georgia and LSU. In his time at LSU and Georgia, he coached Stephen Peterman and Rimington Award winner, Ben Wilkerson, both first team All-Americans. He also coached a National Championship and an SEC Championship. I think it’s safe to say Texas has quite a bit of talent coming our way to help out Garret Gilbert.
